Mahesh K. Marina, University of Edinburgh
Bio: Mahesh K. Marina is a Professor (Personal Chair of Networked Systems) in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, where he leads the Networked Systems Group. His research spans networked systems broadly, with current interests in disaggregated and software-centric mobile networking, AI for networking, LEO satellite communications, and sustainable AI infrastructure. He has held visiting positions at Johns Hopkins University, ETH Zurich, and Ofcom (the UK's telecommunications regulator), and was a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute (2018–2023). He served as Director of the Institute for Computing Systems Architecture at Edinburgh from 2018 to 2022. He received his PhD in Computer Science from SUNY Stony Brook. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and an ACM Distinguished Member.
